Today first hour will be working on completing their assignment that is due tomorrow. The reflection paragraph. Students should make sure that typing errors and proper paragraphing and sentencing structure is maintained while writing this paragraph.
We will also take a look at the note material over classification and discuss Evolution and the driving force behind it which is Natural Selection. If we have time in class, we will head outdoors and get a few things buttoned up prior to the frost days that will be here in the next few days. The plants that have been planted should be ok, but I will try to put some sheets over the plants for the next few days to attempt to help them gain some additional time to develop the root system.
5th Hour will be going out today to harvest all of the produce that is on the plants. We need to get the produce in prior to the frost and it may take 4th hour as well to get this finish. Tomorrow, 1st Hour will go out to pick plant and get them put into the compost pile as we get ready to prepare the garden bed for the winter.
Evolution of the Horse- Here is an extra credit project submitted by Courtney McFadden over the evolution of horses. It seemed to fit as we are talking about characteristics and classification and the evolution of organisms over the course of time.
As I stated in class, I think too many students are relying on extra credit or wanting it instead of the actual practice of studying for our test. I am offering study groups according to the times listed below. Lets attempt to really study for the test during these sessions and see if this does not make our scores go up instead of relying on the extra credit that we may or may not do.
Study Session Times:
Wed. 7:45-8:20 A.M.
Thurs. 7:45-8:20 A.M.
